The 2019 Genesis G70 is mainly known in the automobile market as a performance car after its mechanical dynamics were improved, but it is also a luxurious sedan that dazzles with style and soaks in luxury.
Hence, the 2019 Genesis G70 leading the segment of the luxury compact sedan is now capable enough to throw a challenge to the 3-Series and C-Class models in their respective dealerships. With the latest G70, Genesis hasn’t only sent a message to the premium brands, but also made this premium segment of sedan more affordable than its rivals.
The 2019 model year of Genesis G70 lines up firstly in 2.0T and 3.3T models that further bifurcate into Advanced, Elite, Prestige, Dynamic, and Sport trim levels.
Genesis being always our favorite brand inspires us to explore its latest car lineups, and we often visit our nearby Santa Rosa Genesis dealership to test drive the model we admire most. This time we had our mind on the 2019 model year of G70 sedan series. At the showroom, the model looked smaller than many of its closest rivals but had a compact design that speaks of its confidence in any aspect you choose to explore. With a most luxurious cabin laid inside, the 2019 Genesis G70 appeared to be perfectly tuned for an even sportier performance than it used to render with its yesteryear models.
Interior Luxury and Comfort
If you choose to drive the V-6 powered models, the luxurious leather upholstered cabin of the 2019 Genesis G70 will also give you the benefit of enjoying the sound quality of a 15-speaker Lexicon audio system, 19-inch wheels in combination with summer tires and uprated brakes. Choosing the top of the trim models will upgrade your cabin with Nappa leather upholstery with heated rear seats.
Power to Perform
The entire lineup of the 2019 Genesis G70 depends either upon a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine that can crank a 252 of horsepower or a 3.3-liter turbocharged V-6 option that delivers 365-hp for better motivation. Both the engine options are either paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission that comes with paddle shifters or a 6-speed manual counterpart.
Those who want to drive with the 6-speed manual, need to choose the 2.0-liter turbo-4 as the only engine option as the 3.3-liter V-6 engine is exclusively given an 8-speed automatic transmission to relay its power to the all four wheels with the advantage of its paddle shifters. To attain better safety and control on the vehicle, Genesis attaches a launch control feature as standard on all the trim models, that can make the 2019 G70 pick up a speed of 60 mph from dead stop in about 6.5 seconds while the V-6 turbo-4 engine models do the same in only 4.5 seconds.
The staff at the Genesis dealer near Santa Rosa explained that all the V-6 engine versions along with the 2.0T Sport trims also get a limited-slip differential to achieve better cornering and overall vehicle control, while the Brembo features are kept available to shorten the stops. All the G70 models are given the advantages of front struts with a rear multi-link suspension to absorb all the road imperfections.
